“We are not leaving any stones unturned with the release of Freaknik Lawyer: A Memoir on the Craft of Resistance,” Harold Michael Harvey said after approving the release of a kicking ad promoting his third book.
Cascade Publishing House has obtained the professional voice-over skills of Marque Denmon to beat the drum for the virtue of Freaknik Lawyer. Denmon has over 20 years in radio and copywriting experience.
“We believe Freaknik Lawyer is a significant work which addresses the last 50 years of American and African American history,” Harvey said, adding, “it would be a shame not to get the widest possible audience for this message.”
Harvey is a pioneer of the integration movement in American history. He, along with several other young Black boys integrated a hometown junior high school, back in the dark ages before middle school.
“In my work covering the Southwest Athletic Conference (SWAC) Baseball Championship for Black College Nines, I met Mr. Denmon in the press box. He serves as the Public Address Announcer for the SWAC Tournament. The first time I heard his voice, I knew I wanted to work with him,” Harvey said.
“In the past, we have relied heavily on social media advertisement. When Denmon heard about the Freaknik Lawyer project, he immediately advised that we should not forget about radio in our advertisement plan. Obviously, if we are going to do the radio, we had to have Denmon’s voice. The rest, as they say, is history,” Harvey explained.
Freaknik Lawyer was released in early August to rave reviews. It can be purchased online at https://squareup.com/store/harold-michael-harvey.
