Fake Prez Throws Media A Curveball

It was a good pitch, a curveball on the outer half of home plate. The “Fake Prez” threw it at the right time. The media buckled their collective knees and could not muster a swing.

The curveball followed a series of fastballs thrown with the velocity of Aroldis Chapman, but with a total disregard for the strike zone. Early in the count it was as if he was trying not to throw strikes.

On inaugural day, he was all over the place, on twitter and during the roll-out of his signature immigration executive order. Behind in the count three balls and no strikes, the media anxiously awaited the next pitch. Surely, the “Fake Prez” would groove one right down the middle of the plate and the media would hand him a one-way ticket back to Trump Towers in Manhattan.

“Fake Prez” was having none of it. He is the master of trickery. He waved his hands to the crowd from atop the mound in the House of Representatives as if to say, “I got this.”

He looked in to get the sign. He nodded approval to Black History Month and issued soft words against a string of threats to Jewish community centers across the country, then the wind up, a sharp snap of his right wrist upon releasing the ball and a checked swing by the media.

The fourth estate was so taken aback by the change of pace of the “Fake Prez” that they altered their pre-planned highlines. Instead of suggesting it was time for the “Fake Prez” to discontinue his ruse, the media fell over themselves in finding superlatives to express how presidential the heretofore “Fake Prez” had been.

The most this writer can say is at least Trump did not embarrass the USA before the world during his address to congress.

When one peeled away the efficient, but not masterful teleprompter reading, Trump told some of the same fake truths. For instance, his claim that since 9/11 the majority of terrorist attacks on the homeland had been at the hands of foreign born terrorists. The fact of the matter is, this award goes to white nationalists, born and bred on these shores.

Also, he talked about bringing manufacturing jobs back to the USA while at the same time he was probably wearing a neck tie made in China bearing the Trump brand.

The list goes on and so does the ruse of the “Fake Prez.” Trump’s curveball reminds me of the old adage about putting lipstick on a pig. The pig may have lipstick on, but it is still a pig. The “Fake Prez” may comport his behavior to acceptable societal standards, but he is still full of false facts and fake sincerity when it comes to helping the American people to secure high paying jobs and affordable healthcare.
