Champion of Justice, Law, and Journalism

Harold Michael Harvey

Harold Michael Harvey, author, lecturer, the legal scholar has committed to providing political commentary on the 2016 presidential election for the Tracy Larkin Broadcast Network.

Harold Michael Harvey is an American award-winning journalist, former lawyer, political pundit, novelist, essayist, and publisher. He earned a degree in political science from Tuskegee Institute and a Juris Doctorate from Atlanta Law School. Harvey was honored for “Outstanding Work in Newspaper Journalism” in 1976 by the National Newspaper Publishers Association. In 1996, the Gate City Bar Association bestowed upon him their prestigious R. E. Thomas Civil Rights Award after he represented over 180 college students arrested in Atlanta during the Black college spring break event known as “Freaknic.” Harvey’s career spans law, journalism, and civil rights advocacy, reflecting his lifelong commitment to justice, equality, and civic engagement.

Crafting Stories, Shaping Voices

Harvey is the author of the critically acclaimed legal thriller Paper Puzzle, originally published in 2009 and republished in 2011 after he formed Cascade Publishing House to publish his works and those of other authors who prefer a small publishing environment. Cascade Publishing House released its second book on April 4, 2015, a collection of Harvey’s essays titled Justice in the Round: Essays on the American Jury System. In 2016, Cascade obtained the rights to publish Charles Steele, Jr.’s Easier to Obtain Than to Maintain: The Globalization of the Civil Rights Movement, Steele being the president and CEO of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Harvey also covered the 2012 Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, North Carolina, for Allvoices.com, which recognized him with two semi-monthly American Pundit Awards in February 2012 and April 2013. He lives in Atlanta, Georgia, with his wife, Cynthia, who has served as senior editor for 39 years, and their son, Coley, a sports reporter for a national broadcast company. When Harvey can convince Cynthia he needs quiet time, he writes in the Great Smoky Mountains.
