Trump:Repeal Separation of Church and State

By Michael July 22, 2016 Off

Donald Trump said during his acceptance speech that he favors repeal of the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which sets forth the principle of separation of church and state. Trump told convention goers that he believes the First Amendment restricts the ability of religious leaders to engage in political activity. read more

After Day of Ridicule Donald Nominated

By Michael July 20, 2016 Off

After a day of social media ridicule real estate Mogul Donald J. Trump has done the improbable. Donald Trump is the 2016 Republican nominee for President. Social media was abuzz over what appears to be the best job of plagiarism, by Melania Trump, this side of a high school term paper.

Nothing and I mean nothing has been able to unlodge him from atop the GOP tent. No insult, no distortion of the truth, no flat out lie, not even theft of intellectual property by his wife, Melania Trump, has tarnished his appeal to primarily white Americans who are fed up with the Obama narrative of “One America.” read more

Trump’s African American

By Michael June 3, 2016 Off

“Trump’s African American” has a certain bothersome ring to it. I can not believe I heard him say he has an African American. Let us not make any mistake about it, presumptive Republican Presidential nominee Donald J. Trump has an African American.

Trump is apparently thrilled with his relationship with his African American. He boldly made a crowd aware of his friend, oh, I mean his African American, in Redding, California during a campaign stop on Friday. read more

Stick A Fork In Trump-He’s Done!

By Michael February 4, 2016 Off

You can stick a fork in Donald J. Trump, he’s done. Yes that right, he’s done. He’s done, not medium rare done, but left in the oven too long done, in short, he’s done, as much as any of the candidates who dropped out of the Republican primary this week.

If you like the taste of roasted fowl, slice a piece from his prodigious veneer, because he’s done. Like an over roasted fowl, he’s done, And just as adding loads of gravy to that dried out carcass will not enhance the flavor of the bird, not even many visits to American factories  or farms (where the real people are) will help Trump. read more

Cruz Should Pull a Cassius Clay

By Michael January 28, 2016 Off

Tonight, if I were Ted Cruz, I would pull a Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) on Donald Trump. Since Trump has decided that he will skip tonight’s debate over what he perceives to be a slight by Fox News executives, I would take the fight to him.

Many, at least, in my generation, will recall that in the summer of 1963, Sonny Liston was the Heavyweight Champion of the World. The young brash Cassius Clay had defeated all of his opponents, but he could not get a championship fight with Liston. read more

Why I’m Watching GOP Debate

By Michael January 28, 2016 Off

Tonight, I will watch the GOP Presidential Debate and here is why.

First, Donald J. Trump has voluntarily removed himself from this debate. He did so because of an ongoing dispute with the reporting style of Fox News Anchor Megyn Kelly. I don’t have a dog, so to speak, in this fight, but it seems to me, that Kelly is unfairly being targeted by Trump. read more

Trump’s Temper Tantrum

By Michael January 27, 2016 Off

Donald Trump’s latest temper tantrum has the world, again, on a string. Seemingly, the public is either mesmerized, antagonised or paralyzed by the inhale and exhale of his every breathe.  Like the masterful puppeteer that he is, Trump’s latest meltdown is dominating the airwaves.

Trump’s current conniption boils down to his disdain for Fox News Anchor, Megyn Kelly. Kelly, if anyone cares to recall, during the first Republican Debate, went after Trump’s unflattering language towards women. Specifically, Trump’s diatribe which he hurled at Rosie O’Donnell several years ago. read more

Sitting On the Brink of 2016

By Michael December 31, 2015 Off

2016! We are sitting on the brink of 2016. Twelve more months and the first American president of African descent will be history. His term will have expired, the hatred can cease and the debate over his legacy can begin in earnest.

Once President Obama is out of office will there be a black backlash? Will liberal and progressive white people go back to being white people? Surely liberal and progressive whites  have not forgotten race matters prior to Obama? It is safe to say that the conservative and right wingers have a long memory of these kinds of things. Will the slight “kumbaya” effect engendered by  the Obama presidency linger pass Lincoln’s birthday? read more

Black Pastors deny Trump

By Michael November 29, 2015 Off

Republican front runner, Donald Trump has apparently been snubbed by several prominent black pastors. He has been courting their support for several months. In October, we reported that Trump had a meeting with several black Evangelical pastors in Trump Towers back in September. This story was first reported in the  Conservative Tribune. read more

Debate or World Series

By Michael October 28, 2015 Off

I can’t believe that I am missing the most competitive World Series in many years  to watch the Republican Debate. There has to be something wrong with this picture. I am an admitted baseball fanatic and a political junkie, so something had to give.

My grandfather Charles, sat me in a kids rocking chair, next to his rocker, in 1955 to watch Don Larsen pitch the first and only perfect game in World Series history. I’ve been hooked on baseball’s fall classic every since then. I cut my political teeth in the early 1950’s listening to my extended family debate whether President Harry Truman should have allowed General Douglas MacArthur to pursue the Chinese into the mainland several years after Truman and MacArthur were off the political landscape. That’s how serious politics was around the Harvey farm. read more
