The Speaker’s Bureau is led by Harold Michael Harvey. He has subject matter expertise on race and justice in America. Harold Michael’s quest to understand race and justice in America began in the mid 1950s when he was four years old.
During a visit into town, with his grandparents, to purchase their monthly supplies at the local general store, he was angrily ordered to get from behind the sales counter. He had followed the shop owner’s grandson behind the counter to retrieve a toy truck the two had been playing with on the floor of the shop. The shop owner warned the grandmother that he would have Harold Michael placed in the reform school if he did not learn to stay from behind the sales counter.
After returning home to the farm, Harold Michael’s grandmother introduced him to “Jim Crow.” It was a hard lesson to grasp. So he put that information in the back of his mind and began a life-long quest to understand racial divisions in the world.
Ten years after that episode in the general store, Harold Michael was among a select group of black boys who integrated a white junior high school in Bibb County, Georgia. His quest to fight segregation and racial prejudice led him to law school and a two decade tenure as a practicing trial lawyer.

As a trial lawyer, Harvey was noted for his stirring closing arguments that wove the Gospel into the facts of the case, as he plead with juries to let their verdict speak the truth of what happened between the parties; and not to blindly accept the legal fictions created by legal procedures. He learned this technique from his friend and mentor the late Johnnie Cochran.
Today, Harvey writes about the lessons he has learned about race and justice in America. Additionally, he is a much sought after public speaker on blog talk radio and blog talk television programs.
